The Real File System, often abbreviated as RFS is the ordinary filesystem of the operatings system (e.g. the file system Windows or Linux).
Especially those files that are important for running the basic services of opencms - like java class files and the most important configuration data - reside in the RFS. All files of opencms that opencms stores in the real filesystem are stored somewhere below the web application folder of opencms.
